I thought the movie great. The only thing that I didn’t like about the movie was the ending. I agreed with the misssion he went on to find himself. I think all the troubles he went through just made him a better person. Over all it was a great movie and I would recommend this movie to friends.
for spring break my boyfriend and i went to my families house in Arizona. we took the bus to get out there and it took was all day. never again will i take a bus out of town that was the longest trip I’ve ever been on. the bus got there around 9- 9:30, two hours after it was should have, so we just got picked up and went to bed. on Tuesday we went around to see other family that lived in the area. i would say that day was the best day i had out there. Wednesday and Thursday me and my boyfriend were lift there baby-sitting a one year old and a five year old. the one year old was the best one out of them. the five year old didn’t listen to anything. that Friday we all went to the mall, such was not fun at all. when we made it back to my cousin’s house i took a nap because i knew we had a long drive ahead of us and knowing my cousin she was going to make me drive. i got up about 7 that evening and we headed out the door. I drove all the way back to Oxnard and we in about 5:30 the next morning.
The topic of my paper is; should plastic bags be used in stores and in the home. What I think will work as a solution for the problem is to start using fabric bags in the stores. I have a personal experiences that will help me to develop my essay.The fact that I use plastic bags myself for things like trash. The text I can use to develop my essay would be articles off the computer. My audience is the members of the households that do the shopping.
When I was around the ages of 5 to 7 my mother always had to persuade me to clean my room or it would never get done. She would tell me that she ways going to take me out for ice cream or get pizza or maybe even buy me a new toy, that would just end up right on the floor with all my other toys. But that ways only when she way in a good mood, but on the other hand, when she was not in so good of a mood it was another story. If i didn’t clean my room it was the complete opposite. I wouldn’t get no sweets or snacks for the day, or would have to stay in my room until I cleaned it. And knowing how I didn’t like to stay in my room when it was dirty so it always ended up clean by the end of the day.
The film An Inconvenient Truth has changed me by making me realize how much this word is changing right before our eyes. How bad our living conditions are getting because of the way we as a country are living. It has opened my eyes to see what is really happening all around us, and we are doing nothing about it. We just sit around and let it happen. This film has also brought to my attention to the fact of how hard it is for people to change their way of living. All it takes is for every person to do their little part to help, but there is still so many people out there that have not done their part in saving the earth’s futher generations. This film has persuaded me to start to do more for this earth as soon as possible because it is not going last forever the way we are treating it.
Based off of Gloria Anzaldua’s poem “Borderlands”, the meaning of border to me is when a person feels that they don’t belong. They can have something in common with someone, but still is not accepted. There is still a difference there that separate them from each other. when they have their own group, but are the only ones in the group. It means trying to prove who u are to the ones you share similarities with but still are not the same. When you feel like you are being pushed away from what you think is your own kind, when in reality they don’t see you as the same as them.
One of the differences I noticed in Anzaldua’s writings is how she compares things she is writing about to others in life to give you a visual and makes you use your imagination. Where as for others that I know such as friends or even my own writings there is not such use of similes as the way Anzaldua does.
As I was growing up not to many members of my family finished school and went on to pursue careers or furthered in life. As I got older I always had my grandparents, parents and even my friends pushing me to go on with school and pursuing a career. My grandparents told me about how much they were depending on me to be the first of their grandchildren to do so. My parents tell me about how much easier it would be for me in life if I did finish school. And my friends encourage me too, by say its the best thing to do for myself and I should do whats best for me. This has created change for me by inspiring to to do what is best for me and not only change my life in a positive way but also the ones around me.
My concern about the environment is that the changing is happening so fast and so much of it all together, that it is having a bigger effect then we can handle. And by the time we truly come to our sinuses and realize what is going on we wont be able to do anything about it. As Jared Diamond states in the essay, “The Mirror of Our Fate”, that on Easter Island they have lost most of their sources and how their animals are becoming extinct. The longer it takes for us to realize this the less time we will have to do something about it.
